Add page background puts a soft colour behind everything on a page, like tinted paper.
Steps
- In the rail, choose Organize, then Background in the Marks group (its full name is Add page background).
- Choose a colour. Cream is chosen when the window opens; the last button opens a picker for any other colour.
- Under Pages, choose the page you are on (or the pages you selected), or All pages.
- Choose Add background.
Good to know
- The background goes behind the text and pictures, so nothing is covered.
- Pale colours keep dark text easy to read.
- A page that shows nothing, because its visible area lies outside the page, is left as it is. Every other page gets the background, and Monstera names the pages it left.
- Undo with Ctrl+Z.
