Accessibility Statement

Monstera PDF Editor is designed to WCAG 2.1 AA and checked by automated accessibility tests on every change. This statement describes how the app supports people who use a keyboard, a screen reader, high contrast or large scaling, and the tools it gives you for checking your own documents.

The standard

Monstera is designed to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA. Automated accessibility tests and colour-contrast rules check it on every change.

Keyboard

  • Monstera can be used fully from the keyboard.
  • F6 moves between panes.
  • Keyboard shortcuts can be customised.

Screen readers

  • Controls carry screen-reader labels.
  • Toggles announce whether they are on.

Contrast, themes and motion

  • Light and dark themes, and a 7:1 high-contrast theme that turns on with Windows high contrast.
  • A Reduce motion setting, also on whenever Windows asks for reduced motion.

Scaling

Monstera works at up to 200% Windows scaling. The window's minimum size adapts to the screen, and the ribbon folds extra tools under More rather than scrolling sideways.

Checking your own documents

Monstera includes a PDF accessibility checker that uses PDF/UA rules, and reading-order inspection, so you can check the documents you make before you share them.

Language

The interface is in English.
