The first public release of Monstera, free on the Microsoft Store for Windows 10 and 11. Some of the headline features:
- Over 150 tools for editing, organising, protecting, converting and reviewing PDFs.
- Edit the text already on a page. Monstera changes only the letters you typed and keeps the original font wherever that font can draw them.
- An optional AI assistant with ten providers and your own key. Answers cite page numbers you can click, and a whole page can be translated in place, keeping its layout.
- True redaction that also removes form values, comments, page thumbnails and document metadata under the marks, find and redact by search, and Sanitize.
- Digital signing with your certificate, document certification, visible signatures, trusted timestamps and signature verification.
- OCR in 14 languages on your computer, with automatic scanned-page detection, deskew and scan enhancement.
- Handwriting to Excel and Word with your own Azure or Anthropic account, with an editable grid to correct misread words before the Excel file is created.
- Word, Excel and PowerPoint files converted to PDF on your computer, offline.
- Export to Word in three modes, to Excel with an editable review grid, and to images at any DPI.
- Compare two documents: changed and moved text, annotations, pictures, and added or removed pages, marked on both.
- Designed to WCAG 2.1 AA and checked by automated accessibility tests, with a high-contrast theme, full keyboard use and a PDF accessibility checker.
- 144 offline help articles. F1 opens the article for exactly where you are.
