When you choose Organize in the rail, the pages area shows every page of the document as a card. It is the easiest place to work on several pages at once.
Steps
- In the rail, choose Organize.
- Click a card to select it. Ctrl+click adds or removes a card; Shift+click selects a run of cards. The line above the cards says how many are selected.
- With pages selected, choose Rotate 90° in the Rotate group or Delete page in the Pages group (in a narrower window Delete page is under the group's More) to act on all of them, or press Delete to remove them.
- Drag a card to move that page.
- Press Enter or double-click a card to open that page for reading in Home.
- Above the cards, choose Thumbnail to see many pages at once, or Full page to read one page to a row at the grid's full width, scrolling down as in Home.
- The page number in the status bar is the page you clicked, or in Full page the page you are looking at. Its buttons move through the cards, so a page command acts on the page the status bar names.
Good to know
- The hint above the cards reads: Drag to reorder · Ctrl+click to select several · Delete asks to remove · Enter opens. Delete opens Delete pages with the selected pages filled in, so nothing is removed until you confirm.
- Right-clicking a card that is not selected acts on that page alone.
- Rotating and deleting use the selected pages. Other page tools, such as extracting or duplicating, still use the page you last had open.
- Everything here can be undone with Ctrl+Z.
- The card size you choose is remembered.
- Choosing Organize puts down an earlier drawing or Hand tool and brings back the cards. If you start a drawing tool while in Organize, choose Organize again to return to the cards.
