Help Organising pages

Import a page as a layer

Lay a page of another document over this page as a layer you can show and hide.

Import as layer lays a page of another document over the page you are on, as a layer that can be switched on and off.

Steps

  1. Go to the page to lay it on, or select it in the Organize grid.
  2. In the rail, choose Organize, then As layer in the Pages group. In a narrower window it is under the group's More.
  3. In Layer from, choose another open document, or choose Choose file… to pick a PDF. A file you pick opens as its own tab.
  4. Under Page, type which of its pages to use. The window says which page goes over which.
  5. Choose Import as layer. The Layers tab of the document panel opens, where you can show or hide it.

Good to know

  • The layer is named after the other document's tab.
  • When several pages are selected, the layer goes on the first of them.
  • Comments on the other page are not brought in; this page's own comments stay.
  • Undo with Ctrl+Z.
