Show me is a button in the app's Help centre. In Monstera it points at the tool: the Help centre closes and the button for the tool is outlined. On this website it is described, not shown.
The Help centre explains how to do each thing Monstera can do, in numbered steps. It is part of Monstera, so it works without an internet connection.
Steps
- Press F1. Or open the Help menu and choose Help centre, or choose Help centre at the foot of the start screen.
- If a tool is in use, the Help centre opens on that tool's article. Otherwise it lists the articles for the part of Monstera you are in under Suggested for you, then All articles.
- To find something else, type a few words in Search help. Every word you type must appear in an article for it to be listed.
- Choose an article to read it. Back to the list returns to the list.
- Where an article's tool has a button on screen, Show me lists it. Choose it and the Help centre closes, the part of the rail that holds the button comes to the front, and the button is outlined and takes the keyboard focus.
Good to know
- If the button is inside a More menu because the window is narrow, Show me outlines More.
- Show me is not offered on the start screen or in the Focus layout, where the rail and its tools are not drawn.
- The keyboard shortcuts have their own window: press Ctrl+/.
