Pages scroll continuously, one after another. You can also jump straight to a page, and step back to where you were before a jump.
Steps
- Scroll with the mouse wheel or the scroll bar.
- Press Page Down or Page Up to move one page; Ctrl+Home and Ctrl+End go to the first and last page.
- To go to a page by number, press Ctrl+Shift+G (or click the page field in the status bar), type the number and press Enter.
- In the document panel, choose the Pages tab and click a page picture to jump to it.
- After a jump, press Alt+Left to go Back and Alt+Right to go Forward.
- To drag the pages around with the mouse, in the rail choose Home, then Hand in the Quick tools group, and drag.
- To let the pages scroll by themselves, press Ctrl+Shift+H, or choose Autoscroll in the View menu. Press Esc, click the page or turn the mouse wheel to stop.
Good to know
- Scrolling does not add to the Back history; jumps do (going to a page number, clicking a page picture, a link, a bookmark or a search result).
- Each document remembers its own page and history while it is open.
- To glide to a page instead of jumping, open Settings, choose the Viewing page and turn on Smooth scrolling. It stays off while Reduce motion is on.
- To see each page's number at its foot while you scroll, turn on Page numbers on pages on the same page.
- Autoscroll speed on the same page sets how fast Autoscroll moves: Slow, Medium or Fast. It stops by itself at the end of the document; with Single page chosen, it turns each page when it reaches the page's end.
