Edit a page in another app

If another program can do something to a page that Monstera cannot, you can send the page there and bring it back when you are done.

Steps

1. Go to the page.
2. In the rail, choose Organize, then External edit in the Pages group. In a narrower window it is under the group's More.
3. Choose a name and folder for the page file (it must end in .pdf). It opens in your usual PDF app.
4. Edit the page there and save it.
5. Back in Monstera, the Put the edited page back? window appears. Choose Put it back to replace the page.

Good to know

• Your document does not change until you choose Put it back. If you close the question instead, you are asked again the next time you save in the other app.
• If you changed the document in Monstera meanwhile, the page is not put back, so the wrong page is never replaced.
• Undo with Ctrl+Z.
