A form is a PDF with places to type, tick and choose. Monstera fills them in, and it makes new ones.
Fill a form
- Open the form. There is no tool to choose: click a field on the page and type, or click a tick box or an option.
- Press Tab to go to the next field and Shift+Tab to go back.
- Or, in the rail, choose Forms, then Fields list: every field is listed by page, and you can fill each one there.
- Save the document to keep what you entered.
See "Fill in a form" for the details.
Make a form
- In the rail, choose Forms. In the Fields group, choose a kind of field, such as Text field or Tick box.
- Click the page to place it, or drag to give it a size. Monstera names it for you, and its properties open.
- You are now in Edit fields: drag a field to move it, drag a handle to resize it, and press Delete to remove it. Press Esc to go back to filling.
- Change a field's name, look and behaviour in its properties.
- A page with printed lines and boxes and no fields? Choose Detect… and Monstera suggests where the fields go.
See "Create form fields", "Change a form field" and "Find fields on a flat form" for the details.
Good to know
- Flatten turns the form into an ordinary page, so nobody can change it any more. See "Flatten a form".
- Undo with Ctrl+Z.
