Ask AI about selected text or a comment

You can send just a piece of text to the AI assistant straight from the page.

Steps

1. Select text with Select text, then right-click it.
2. Choose Ask AI to ask your own question: the AI assistant opens with the selected text in quotation marks in the message box and the cursor after it, so type your question and press Send. Nothing is sent until you do.
3. Or choose Explain, Summarise or Translate: these ask at once, about the selected text.
4. To answer a comment: right-click the comment and choose Draft a reply with AI. When the draft appears, choose Post as a reply to add it.

Good to know

• Translate translates into the language Monstera is shown in.
• Only the selected text or the comment is sent.
• You need a key for an AI provider; the provider bills you directly. See "Get and add keys for AI and online reading services".
